DIY: Fabric Elegent Roses
I used a bird cage to hold all of the wedding cards, but to make the cage look more elegant, I decided to make fabric flowers. I used the same cloth left over from making the flower girl banner to make these very pretty cloth roses.
Materials:
- 2 ft. x 2 inch strip of fabric (longer and wider material for the larger flower) / flower
- fabric scissors
- hot glue
Directions:
Start from one end of the fabric strip and start rolling the fabric. (I apologize for not having pics of this process. I got too excited making the flowers and forgot to take pics!) After you roll in about 2 inches of fabric, take the tail, which is the rest of the fabric strip, and fold it away from you to form the "petals" of the rose. Folding it at an angle will give it a realistic feel and look of a rose. Keep folding around the center portion to form petals around and around until you reach the end of the fabric strip. Hot glue as you go so that the petals stay put.
Above are different angles and sizes of roses as well as the underside view of the flower. You can see where the initial rolling of the center of the flower also becomes a "stem" to make it easier to attach it to whatever object you're decorating.
Happy Crafting! ❤
